I am having a problem with the screen going black for about a second or two at a time while playing Grimrock. I believe the flashes to black become more frequent the longer I play. I have not played for longer than about 15 minutes at a time before it gets too frustrating. The game does not stop while the screen is black, I can move, but I can't see where I'm going. I get some warning before it starts because in the darker areas I can see flashing pixels like static on the screen. Some time ago I had exactly the same problem in Civilization V but the problem went away after a patch. I have tried altering all the graphical options including v-sync, alas no luck. Grateful for any help.

Might be the same issue as other have with a constant black screen exept for particles.

Although the gt220 is not made for games at all, and might be an issued with the gpu itself
i would recommend something with 60 in the end or higer from nvidia.

The 220 is made for browsing the web and reading mail more or less

to find it you do.

right click your desktop and select nvidia controll panel

in the controll panel you find the preformance tab and you select anti aliasing settings from a drop down window

i haven't used nvidia in a while so i'm not 100% sure

Found it under 'Manage 3D Settings' and the settigs are:
-Antialiasing Gamma correction ON (only affects OPENGL programs)
-Antialiasing Mode and Setting are both set to Application Controlled
-Antialiasing Transparency OFF
I also noticed Triple Buffering was set to OFF so I switched it ON, but it didn't seem to help. I have no idea if any of this is relevant.

trippel buffering affect the vsync option basicly reduce input lag that vsync is known for but increasing the memory usage on your gpu

as far as i can tell it's the gpu itself, not that i can't say for sure but atm i'm out of options
perhaps someone else have an input on the case

Cheers blucoll. By the way, I am having a great time with this game for the short stints that it is playable.

All fixed, I believe it was a power supply problem to graphics card. PSU was probably faulty. I've got a new PC now and everything is sweet. Thanks again to blucoll.
