For those that may be less familiar with the series, here is the "Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver" HD Intro (Upscaled 720p)

For comparison sake, Here is the PS1 version of the intro. The dialog is slightly different between the two.

As a testament to this game's awesomeness, back in the early days of youtube this intro consistently stayed in the top rated within the gaming section.

I noticed the intro was different... I think I prefer the old one though. I still have my disc, so perhaps some game surgery is in order. =]

I don't know what happened. I always played the PS version and only recently got the PC one with the changed dialogue, I must admit I'm not a fan of the changes.

The PS1 and PC intros should be the same, but from what I hear (I haven't personally verified it yet) GOG version for some reason uses early beta version of the movie.

Which version of the cinematic does the Dreamcast version use?

The classic one. I've seen this one with changed dialogue only in the GOG version and I hope they will "fix" it.

Thanks for this Paradoks! I was thinking of trying to do this completely from scratch, this saved so much time. Worked like a charm.

If you can, wait a little longer until you download the file I posted. If all goes well I should be able to provide a better quality video in few days.

Although I didn't have any problem with the GOG Intro video, I just tested your 4:3 version and it looks and sounds much better than the GOG version! With much less artifacts and sound clips (I've already replaced the intro with yours... ;) )

Anyway, I own the PlayStation version and I know your video is with the same dialogue, but it's obvious is not the source. What was your source? And if you converted the video to BIK, did you use the RAD Video Tools (Bink & Smacker) or something else?

Te original source is a rip from Soul Reaver 2 PS2 version bonus materials. AVI file was uploaded by the Hylden on Eidos Forums and I used RAD Video Tools for conversion.

Who knows if GOG staff will replace the intro in the future.

You should check the first post in the sticky thread. I know it needs updating but the download links for the intro are still active.
