Having repeated issues with the game freezing. Cant seem to pin the issue to anything specific, unfortunately. Have tried changing resolution, running as admin, etc. basic stuffs. Any thoughts/ideas?

Which game? If it's SR2, BO2 or Defiance then it's most probably the affinity bug. In that case check stability section in the sticky "resources" thread.
BO2; probably my issue if its that common, will update when i have time to check it out :) thanks

I'll just copy, edit and and paste what I've written in that thread:

"- use a program called StartAffinity.exe
- for Win 7 make a bo2.bat file in the game folder with the following content:
start /affinity 1 /high bo2.exe
and modify the shortcuts to point to that file.
- physically disable cores in Windows settings, but that's an overkill and a last resort
The process should be running in high priority to avoid cutscene skipping."

Alternatively you can try solution proposed here.

I'm having some crash issues with Blood Omen 2 as well. Ok, so I made the bo2.bat file but how do I modify the shortcuts (like the desktop shortcut) to point to that file?

Right click on the shortcut and choose properties. Shotcut tab should be default. I'm not sure about English names but there should be something like "target object" or something similar. If you put the bat file in the game folder then all you need to do is change exe to bat at the end of the path.

Alternatively - just create a new shortcut for the bat file. Right click on it, send to - Desktop.

Alright, game works well so far. The only thing I find unusual right now is that the FMVs, like the ones you see before the menu, seem to lag a bit.

That's an unfortunate downside. That's why high priority for the process is set. Without that the lag can last several seconds. Ultimately it's a small price for the stability. After the introduction at the start of first level is finished you won't see any movies until the game's outro. Unless you check 2 bonus videos in options menu (SR2 trailer and credits).
