I have a problem with the gog version. The CD Music isn't playing at all and I don't know why.

When I start the game the midi music is on and under preferences "CD Audio" is unchecked and nothing happens when I check it and leave the options menu (when I return to the options the box is unchecked again. So I assume there is something wrong.

So far I have read alot of threads about the Audio and Music in the gog version and I understand how dosbox uses the .ogg files from the music folder. Maybe there is a problem I don't see.

The resource.cfg says:

soundDrv = MT32.DRV
mouseDrv = none
memoryDrv = none
joyDrv = none
minEMS = 1024
minCPU = 386
minDOS = 500
size = 15000
cd=yes
nonrotatingmap = 1

the dosboxBAK_single.conf says:

[IPX]
Enable=0
Connection=0
ipx=false

[autoexec]
# Lines in this section will be run at startup.

@ECHO OFF
mount C "..\Betrayal at Krondor"
imgmount d ".\Betrayal at Krondor\bak.inst" -t iso -fs iso
c:
cls
KRONDOR.EXE
exit

is there maybe a problem because I have installed the game on path e:? Otherwise I have absolutely no clue what's going on and I want the CD Music badly; so basically I can't start the game yet.

No. Try reinstalling the game (with admin rights).

I deleted it, restarted my Computer and reinstalled it, same problem again. I installed the game as admin on winXP btw.
For your link, I already read that and I guess this could be helpful if it won't work. From what I get it basically tells you a way to enhance the midi sound.

I still hope there is a better way.

That is correct... it makes it sound almost as good as the CD audio, lets the music loop (CD audio does not loop so combats can end in silence), and allows fades and crossfades. I prefer it to the CD audio.

However, I never had problems getting the CD audio working, so I don't know what the issue is for you.
