First off, I've not been playing games for a several years now, but I was blown away looking at a couple of the "let's play" videos online and I bought this version that night. I've been playing this game since yesterday... In-fact I went out and bought a new video card just so I could enjoy the splendor of the visuals. $7 game... $200 video card... eh.
I needed an upgrade anyway... Dialing back the graphics just wasn't worth it.

So, after exploring all the houses and woods, and finding the ice-wall with the strange glyphs in the vision, I'm curious... is this it for the pre-beta, or is there more to it after this puzzle? Aside from cracking the safe, I'm not sure what else to do in this game until you let me drive all the way around the lake...

I'm looking forward to seeing what the 2/15 release does for the game.

Also... here are a few bugs that I found.
Truck parking. I park it, walk to another house and find the truck waiting for me.
Logs. Can't seem to pick up a second log that I need to start fires. First few sites worked fine, but now I risk freezing to death because I'm suddenly in a Jack London story...
Can't pick up the flare gun.

All-in-all, great game! Can't wait for the next patch!

Hi,

I'm glad you enjoy the game so far ;)

We made this beta build short so that it doesn't spoil too much of the story since it's a stroy-driven game.

For the bugs you encountered:

Truck parking: does it happen while playing or when you reload your game?
Logs and flare gun: Maybe you had too much weight in your inventory. There is no notification for that though, so it's a bit our fault :P You could drop a few empty bottles and beer bottles and this should help you pick up what you need.

Either way, thanks for the feedback, we'll make sure to try the truck parking just in case.

EDIT: I tried the truck parking thing, and it only occurred when I loaded my game. It was made this way so that if you get stuck somewhere with your pickup truck, you can drive it again when you reload your game. If that's not what happened to you, could you tell me where you were approximately?

If I may ask a straight forward question: Can you actually get to the mansion in this demo? (I'm trying to be a bit vague in order to avoid potential spoilers.)

:)

I wouldn't call what we have here currently short. I've already been playing for a good 4 hours. It is all about exploring, thinking, looking at things not rushing about full pace. I discovered several things, solved a few bits and pieces too but I have not even been to all the available houses yet.

LOVING this so far :)

Actually having more issues with this forum. wrote up a reply and it's just frozen.

Anyway, I was at the LaChance's house and I walked to two other houses. When I arrived at the wildlife officer's house, the truck was there4 waiting for me. I don't think I saved, but maybe I did. I've found that saving and exiting fixes some of the bugs that I've encountered.

The forum issue happened to me this weekend too. Hope it got fixed ;)

I'm pretty sure the pickup truck thing happens only when you save/quit/load, but if it happens without leaving the game, please report it here so that we can replicate/fix it.
