There's a 1.58 build 314 unofficial patch around. Is it the one applied to GOG version? If not, is it compatible?

I believe that GOG only uses official patches for the games they sell tot he public.
Also, there should be no problems using unofficial patches with GOG Games. At least I have not found it an issue at thsi point.
Bottom line, I think you will be fine with the GOG version of the game.

Game was patched to latest official version. You can try to install unofficial patch, but we cannot guarantee it will work. It should at least if it want change any of the exe files.
