Dear GOG,
First and foremost, I want to make it clear that I am infinitely grateful that you guys added Gabriel Knight, King's Quest, Space Quest and now Police Quest to your library, many of these games deserve to be discovered (or rediscovered), it must not have been an easy task fixing some of them to run on anything newer than a decade and half old hardwares and I have no doubt more good old Sierra games will find their way to your library, hopefully paving the way for more companies to do the same.

As you surely know, long ago Sierra decided to remake the first chapter of their five biggest adventure franchises, keeping the plots and puzzles intact but updating pretty much everything else to their latest engine at the time. These five games were King's Quest I, Space Quest I, Police Quest I, Leisure Suit Larry I and Quest For Glory I.

You obviously listened to us when we asked if the remakes could find their way into your library since you're now offering the Police Quest I remake in your latest release, instead of the original.

But I believe what we all wants is for GOG to offer both the original versions and the remakes of these games, because even if the plots and puzzles are the same in both versions, the art, music and sound are not, the interface is not, the graphical and verbal feedbacks, especially for humoristic games, are not, and overall the experience is simply not the same between both versions, and even if we die-hard fans can and will argue for days on end which between originals and remakes are better, I think we all agree that both versions deserve to be played, and it's truly a shame that currently we have to buy these games on two different store to enjoy both.

Dear GOG, could you please add both the originals and the remakes (with their respective documentations because the manuals too were different from one version to another) to your current King's Quest, Space Quest and Police Quest packs, and, I have no doubt, your future Sierra games release too?

-The undersigned

Agreed! GOG, you're doing tremendous work for the fans of the old classics, Sierra's adventures included, and I believe that both the remakes and the originals deserve to be available without having to purchase multiple collections. Thank you for listening.
I agree as well. Both the originals and the remakes are good, and both should be included. I'd also like to ask: where is my Quest For Glory? And Torrin's Passage and Freddy Pharkas: Frontier Pharmacist.

I am eternally grateful for all the work you've done to bring my childhood back to life, and now I'm asking that you go one step further. You will have the gratitude of many fans, and will have my continued patronage. (ok, well you'd have it either way, but regardless...)
would love to get the remakes as well : ) also to see Larry here, and Quest for Glory as well, and a lot more, off course! :)

Thank you Gog! :)

I want to add, I did not have bought any of the Game-Series Part 1,2,3 Bundles, because the games are too dated for me. With the remakes of part 1 added i would buy them!

The only exception was police quest, as the vga remake is included.

I would have to whole-heartedly agree. I signed up for the forums JUST to sign this petition. While you guys are doing an awesome job - I think everyone would love the origin version of the games as well - not just the remakes - so that they can recapture the entire feeling of playing those "Good Old Games" from Sierra.
Agreed. I'd love to have both the originals and the remakes.
I also add my name to this petition-- I own the KQ/SQ original SQ/KQ series and the remakes already, but am greatly interested in QFK and GN remakes AND originals! Would buy the whole collection if it was really a complete collection!
I definitely agree with this sentiment; I absolutely love what GOG is doing, and I really hope that GOG will consider adding the original/remake versions of the various games!
This has been the only thing holding me back from buying GOG's packs. Without having both the originals and remakes, they seem incomplete to me (and who gets to decide which version is better anyway?). I'm holding on to my old boxed copies of the Sierra collections for now.
It's a good thing to not judge which version is better. But I agree, people should be able to play both versions. Not only to have a complete collection but also to see how different and still the same two versions of the same game can be.
I was disappointed that both versions of PQ1 weren't included. If we can get the originals, then there's even more incentive to buy the King's Quest and Space Quest sets for the people that are on the fence. I'd love to have both.
I absolutely, 110% concur. Both versions of the games are must-haves!

I think, part of the purpose of GOG is not simply the nostalgia factor for older gamers like ourselves ("older" I'm only 23!) but to show younger gamers what games used to be like, the evolution of the video game in a way. Without both the original and the remake a part of that is lost.
(And if you're wondering why I think that, it's because I have turned some younger gamers onto this site and they were very excited to see how things used to be!)
Signed. I loved the first Police Quest, but the remake - while nice - is like playing a whole different game.
Agreed! It's especially aggravating that the Steam and GoG collections differ in which ones they offer. I don't like the Steam versions - GoG does such a better job in not just repackaging Activision's crappy collections but actually getting each game to work well - and I would love to see each version available!

In particular, I think the PQ and SQ remakes came out very well as really different-feeling versions of the originals and both sides of the coin deserve to be seen.
Signed!

I love being able to play and compare versions; I particularly liked how the two versions were integrated in Another World - 15th Anniversary Edition.
