Hey thanks man! That did the trick for me, only I had to rename glide 2 back to it's original or I just got a black screen (even though the game booted). I didn't need to install Nglide since I already did that a few days prior for another game I wanted to play. Strange thing though is that I can only run it about about 10-13 fps.... which is after choosing 3DFX and 800x600. Perhaps I should try direct 3D or something but then I can only play at 600x480 or something (I remember that limitation from the old days when I used to play on a tnt2 or geforce 2gts, even the special effects couldn't be selected).
Other than that, the person saying the game isn't worth playing.... well.... it's not a looker, and most certainly a huge departure from VII, but once you get into it for an hour or so you get into an incredible adventure, I remember crossing the river stix, making it through the trials of hell and confronted the demon sitting at his throne (can't remember if that was the devil or just the keepseeker of the underworld, I believe it was Horus actually).
Then my basement flooded and my pc was broken, together with all my music files and gone were years of efforts and songwriting... I actually rescued an old hard drive by dismanteling it and putting it in another case this year and was able to save some tracks and recreate 4 songs out of like 26-35 that were written and recorded and this year I released that very EP of my 16 year old recordings and got it labeled worldwide.... hah, how a game can bring up memories :)
Now back to the issue at hand, any fix to make it run smoother?
Thanks!
