The first three King's Quest games work just fine with Boxer on Mac and are easy to setup with it. If you are not familiar with Boxer, Google for it. The site will explain it's use but it is very simple really.
As for the default downloaded installers from GOG I don't recall what I did there. If those are Windows installers, one could easily run them with Wineskin to get the King's Quest installations out and then move them into Boxer. This is a bit of a pain but not too bad if you do not have Windows available via bootcamp or Parallels or whatever. The GOG installers run just fine in Wineskin. Google for that too if you are not familiar with it. It is more complex than Boxer but for this purpose one needn't learn all about the various configuration options that Wineskin makes available. Just the defaults with the most recent Wine will work fine to run a GOG installer.
I have not yet setup the remaining games but for all those that are MS-DOS based DOSBox versions for Windows, setting up as noted above should work just as well as they do in Windows with DOSBox.
If the last titles in the series require Windows which I am guessing at some point they do, one could try using Wineskin to set those up and play them. I don't know if they work with Wine or not as I've not yet attempted this. For info about that though as with any game one wants to setup with Wine to run on a Mac, check the AppDB pages of the WineHQ website. Do a search for the game in question and you'll find feedback, ratings, etc. on how well it works or does not work listed there for many games including these most likely. I know that will be my first stop when I am ready to play those ones.
So, there's no need to wait for GOG on any of the classic MS-DOS games they sell. I've setup other ones too such as the first two Might and Magic games and the first Heroes of Might and Magic. Further down the road, Might and Magic V which GOG has not gotten around to either, is reported to run flawlessly with Wine as I recall. A lot more stuff on GOG will run on a Mac with Boxer and Wineskin. They just haven't gotten around setting them up for whatever reasons but we don't have to wait on them. It really isn't very hard to do it ourselves. You just need to spend a little time becoming familiar with Boxer and Wineskin both of which are well documented and not difficult to use. These are the same tools that GOG has used to setup MS-DOS and classic Windows titles for Macs.
I hope that helps so you can play now and not have to wait for who knows how long.
