Is it possible to get past the stone archer while the gardener/genie is there?

In order to get past the archer, you need the shield.

You obtain the shield by going through the catacombs.

You need the brick to survive the catacombs...

... which you find back where the archer is. And the gardener/genie only appears during that first time.

Nope. Here's someone's playthrough of doing exactly those actions. The genie disappears from this scene, and doesn't return.

Exactly. Graham picks up the brick, and then leaves. The gardener\genie fails to lure Alexander to his death, so he leaves. And then once you have shield from the labyrinth, you can come back here and get past the stone archer.

The OP's question, however, was whether it's possible to successfully get past the archer with the genie present.

I think the OP meant he wanted to get past the archer, but didn't know how to deal with the gardener\genie that kept killing him.

codefenix is correct. I have beaten the game several times and no longer get killed by the genie. I just wanted to know about a possible obscure thing in the game. I wanted to see the gardener's reaction if he saw you get past the stone archer with the shield.
