I am trying to start King's Bounty The Legend both through GoG Galaxy and kb.exe, but it silently quits without giving any hint why it won't start. There's no splash screen, title screen etc., just a busy mouse cursor for a few seconds.

I tried editing screen resolution and refresh rate in the default.ini, turning off GSync and have enabled WinXP compatibility mode and 'run as admin'.

Basic system spec:
Win10 x64 on AMD
Nvidia 3070 with GSync capable WQHD monitor
16GB Ram
NVMe SSD

Could be the same thing that caused my game to keep crashing when trying to start it....here's what I did to fix mine:
go into default.ini and change setf ~r_water from 1 to 0, then save the changes and see if your game works
