Calling this a HoMM clone is pretty ironic. The original King's Bounty (1992-ish) was the inspiration for HoMM (the first one), which was mostly the result of mixing the Might & Magic trademark in with many of King's Bounty's concepts.
I'm on the fence about trying out this homage, though, because they made the overland portion real-time. Choosing where to go with your turns, given the way that both recruitable and enemy monsters respawned, was an important element in your decisionmaking in the original.

The game is well worth it. I would be handing my money over right now if I didn't have two copies of it already (I hate ending up with multiple copies, I just somehow did).

I am currently enjoying this game quite a lot. Having played HOMM3 I like the simplicity of KB. I dont know how the game will change yet since I'm only a level 4 hero and classed as a Treasure Seeker Paladin. Weird combination.
The interface is clear and crisp on my 13inch screen. Being able to play it with the notebook's touchpad makes it nice due to the turnbase aspect in battles. The environments when adventuring is very pretty and the music goes quite well. I have to say that some perfomance tweaks is desired when adventuring.
I recommend this game to anyone who's interested in turn based titles.

I love this game, it's become one of my favorites. It took awhile for me to get used to it, since I wasn't used to one graphical figure equalling more than one troop. (I was used to one figure=one character, not multiple).

I love this game, though. The characters are hilarious, and they say the most unexpected things that make me laugh out loud. I love the Royal Snakes and Thorns, and just love the troops that I can have. I vowed at the beginning to not have spiders in my army, because the animation freaked me out, and yet they were some of my best warriors, and I miss them when I ran out.

So yes, love this game. <3 And Sleem is my favorite Spirit of Rage, and I think he's one of the most powerful, even though you get him before some of the others. :)

Royal Snakes + Frog = Win. :)

I'm at around level 25 and I keep about 2000 Royal Snakes on reserve. It's awesome (broken) that the reserve troops aren't limited by loyalty requirements.

I only use Sleem for Gloat Armor. Otherwise, Reaper and Lina do so much more damage.

This is very good game. I spent on in many hours and have fun! Worth to buy.

Absolutely, when I played it (offered with a gaming magazine from here (about $5 for magazine + game), no clue how they landed the rights, they seemed amazed too, as they had just picked it as game of the year the year before) it just hooked me from start to end. That happens extremely rarely for me. Awesome piece of work.
As I titled a review I wrote for it, it's less about what you do and more about how you do it. It may not be original and it may not try to do that many things, but what it does it does almost perfectly and there's so much care and attention to detail to everything...

I like both the HoM&M and King's Bounty series, but I prefer the latter due of better RPG elements and free exploration of the entire map.

I Strongly agree with other commentors. First I was little angry because of unfair fights in the first hours of game. But then I realize that there are places and opponents that should be avoited until you got some "muscles". I was also so stupid and lazy that I figure out secrets of Spirits of rage only after playing already maybe 10 hours... After that is has been much easier :)

I´m enjoy game´s graphics, music and turn-based-system a lot. Now I can´t help that play more and go deeper. To me this is the best game I have played in years.

You can easily avoid all but a few battles by going far into storyline. Also in a lot of quests you do not need any fight. That way you can gain more exp / leadership and get back to them much much later.

Good points - thank you. Until now I have just "scrap" whatever units I have found (or I have many enough...) but now I start to do this group selection more carefully. Will there come - in some point of game - a situation where player gets his own castle/own place where I could store some important units. Can somebody help me with this question? I think I have come by somekind of place to store units, but I don´t remember where this was located anymore.

You can store units in every castle marked on map. One of bugs was related to that earlier (read my other thread).
