So I was really looking forward to playing this for a bit.

I launched the game, fiddled with the settings, and then started a new game. The cinematic played and then, at the end... a crash to desktop. Fine, I think, I'll relaunch the game.

Except that I cannot get the game to launch anymore.

I think something in the settings messed it up, probably regarding the shadows. I would like to change it, except that I can't get into the game because the program refuses to launch. The options are also not kept in the same place as before, so there's no file to edit either. I've deleted some new folders in /AppData, but that did nothing.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I have the exact same problem. Galaxy didn't even recognize the game was installed after the first crash so I manually deleted the game folder and reinstalled it. Still won't launch.

EDIT: Turns out Windows Defender was treating some files as virus threats. After excluding the GOG game folder and verifying/repairing the installation everything appears to be working.

Cheers! It works now.

Windows Defender was removing the executable. I assume it was a false positive.

I was having the exact same problem as you. Had to add the exe to my exceptions list. They need to clear that up in a patch though. Mine is still crashing when I try to exit the game. I confirm exit and the game freezes.
