"Warning! Entering Vranik Hillfort can abort some quests"

As soon as I approach the fort and this text appears on the screen that's it, the game locks up and I'm unable to continue. Buttons don't work, whether it's holding B on an Xbox controller or holding ESC on my keyboard, nothing. It means I have to CTRL+ALT+DEL to get out of the game, then shut it down using task manager.

Was the same for 1.4, same for 1.4.1 and remains the same for 1.4.2 much to my frustration. I've now reached the point where I'll probably give up on this utterly broken mess as a lost cause.

I don't know what did you already try, I found a tip about this issue in Steam discussions: "Some people reported that removing all mods solved this issue. I solved a similar issue by deleting all my configuration files and verifying game cache (to redownload them)."

If nothing helps, I would also try to contact them directly (support@kingdomcomerpg.com).

that's a sign of an outdated mod, anything that adds scripts to the game, mainly combat recitle for bow, is the culprit, remove all the mods by putting them outside the KC:D folder and add 1 by one untill you find the problem mod, then see if it has been updated in a day or two.

FaceLifter: I'm working right now and can't test this. Fingers crossed that someone can confirm the cutscenes are working again!

Vesperon80: I just tested some cutscenes that were missing in 1.4.1 (forging with father in Skalitz, the attack on Skalitz and arrival to Talmberg), now they are in the game for me in 1.4.2.
Thanks for the update Vesperon! I've now played past the first few major cut scenes and everything is running smoothly in KCD. Great game so far!

Really?
So if I restart the game now the cutscene after handing the cross-guard to father, and then the cutscene depicting the attack on Skalitz - (and hopefully all subsequent ones) - will play correctly?

This is how the bug emerged - they simply forgot to include 5 huge video files to the installation pack. It took them 11 days to repair this complicated bug
