I am trying to launch this game without having to have the GOG launcher open. I go to the KingdomCome.exe and click to run, doing so shows the Kingdom Come Deliverance splash screen window thing, then it closes and nothing happens. When I launch it through GOG it launches fine. Is this some form of DRM? I thought GOG has no drm, and I don't see anything on the store page that says otherwise.

OK, I tried it with my Internet disabled completely, and the game ran without a problem. You might try reinstalling the game. Also be sure and run the game from the "Launch Kingdom Come Deliverance" icon in the game's root directory.

Good luck!

Any luck with this ItsMarmadule? I've got the exact same issue, I see the splash screen and it closes, the nothing :(

Here's hoping you have it up and running now.

-------Croyzers edit

Ok, got it working by disabling the internet (as per waltc instructions) and got it running! However, I can't start if from Galaxy or the exe command in the folder (or even if I have the internet connected). How very, very weird.

This same problem as reported by Croyzers happens to me... even excluding the .exe from accessing Internet via Firewall don´t work; The problem disappears only when inhabilitating all my net connections. And, if once started, should I habilitate any connection it inmediately crashes... How weird for a single player game!...

¿Somethink in windows 11 that messes with the start? even there is not any indication of the cause of the crash on startup in any log file...
I'm having the same issue. It runs fine if started from the Galaxy client, but when I use the standalone shortcut, it crashes with an exception in a Galaxy DLL:

C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\redists\peer\msvc-18\GalaxyPeer64.dll

I can only assume the executable expects to be started from Galaxy somehow. Which is less than ideal to say the least, but I can live with that (for now). I wonder if the offline game installers will have the same issue...
Bingo!... renaming (inhabilitating) that .dll the game starts with internet connected both thru galaxy or from the executable directly...
I couldn't find the previously mentioned .dll as a fix, but here's what worked for me.
I found a reddit post describing a similar issue and it linked a GOG support article. It's something to do with OpenSSL calculations on certain Intel CPUs.
