IMHO, there should be way more books. It is sad that I read in books from the characters perspective most of the time, what I already read in the kodex entries. Lots of things are duplicate, some books say something about the future which is sort of weird.
It is great to sit on the bed in the evening and read books before sleeping. Best game mechanic ever! :)
I was so nervous when Heinrich finally learned to read!

Graphics and the world are stunning!

Riding is fun!

Gathering is great and alchemy just brilliant. I often jump onto the table, though.

The stories are good.

The German voiceover is very good.

Stuff I fixed with mods:
The combat is the worst for me, I use the no target mod so I can left or right click for attack and otherwise move freely.
Some config change to have the cursor when using a bow and a custom minimal UI.

Overall a very good experience, I am a bit worried to progress the story when I read in the Kodex that lords go to war against each other and the I may not be able free-roam any more. We will see what happens.

After maybe 35-40h of play I didn't get very far in the main story, but the side quests are very entertaining. They are very good scripted with often several outcomes and results. I just play the character as I would behave or from a roleplay point of view.
I wonder if the game ends with the main quest or can we play on?

My Heinrich is no thief or murderer. He is no criminal but at every corner people ask me if I could help them with something dodgy. An option to report to authorities like the Vogt would be great.

Interesting.

The character needs a way to excuse himself when walking past a person in a narrow passage, parpet without having to always bump into folks. NPCs do ont move, they should move when they see you. it is too narrow to have two men fit in parpet areas, for example. There is a Steam game called "Mad Max" which has the ability to turn sideways in a narrow area. this should an ccould be implimented in a major fix. Just like in the real world. the Play character is not The Invisible man. and should be treated with respect by the NPCs as he is expected to do them, if the RPG experience is what the makers of this game truely intend it is not just about the NPC's , itis about your play character too!

there is lots of clipping issues and issues with characters not knowing their space from your space.
I have even been stuck in the same space with an NPC, escpecially in small narrow rooms beneth trap doors where they warn me to leave and they block the way and then arresst me even though I try and leave.

the reporting questionable people to the authorities is a good idea too.
if you want to be chvialrous that is your duty as a Knight.

Yes, I had some NPC standing inside of each other.

Make the love potion something you can utilise with Theresa, not just a 10min charisma buff :P

p.s. I am a bit disappointed that there are sometimes no solutions without lockpicking, so it seems?

OK, I take a break.

After being forced to steal from someone to get into the monastery, I am at an impasse again.

I tricked myself as a monk into the monastery, then talked to my target I am supposed to murder (which I would never do, but OK Radzig said I should instead send him his way). He claims to have a book I am looking for some time, but I cannot commit crime and just steal it.
I was impressed on how cool they designed the quest with several solutions. Only he doesn't have it and you still need to lockpick to get it, no matter if you talked to him or not.

This game can only be played as a criminal.
For me the combat is pretty good. I had no experience with this kind of mechanics so far, and I enjoy the slow paced, tense fights. The problem I have is that I find very easy to run backwards and shoot arrows, so much that it doesn't seem realistic at all, almost cheating. Probably the player could run backwards a little slower.

Considering that Fallout 2 already featured a way to get people to get out of your damn way (after realising how annoying it was in the first pre-mod Fallout), it's strange that this doesn't appear to have been considered. Either you need a talk->GTFO of my way! option (or two) (ideally), or for a dodgy hack they could have your character temp-auto-clip characters in doorways (obviously not ideal, lacks immersion and will probably look crap).

Deep Silver!
Risen
all over it!

and if you worship Adinos, Gothic as well!
I love how they take a historically based backstory and you can make YOUR Henry be any damn way you please! Knight, deplomat, or Rogue, or a pretender who works with the scum on the sly. ;)
I guess my prior encarnate as Henery was a "me" in 1402 in middle Europe.
and that is said of any player of this game.

the believable approach may not work, but even if it is sort of cheesy it is better than nothing. considering all the bugs in this game, including people bumping into you while you are speaking to someone and blaming you even htough they are futsing all over the place. Teresa's Uncle for instance.

At least it uses an easily-moddable engine. A lot of the more annoying and/or buggy things have mods to sort them out, and there's always the console as well (there's probably a noclip command or something to get through bugs for example - haven't needed it myself yet, but that could be because the first mod I installed was a "fix" to the save system (save scum being very useful to avoid repeating large sections because of freaky bugs)).
