So, I've played this game for a while now, but just recently it stopped working properly. When I try to run it, the resolution changes like it's going launch, but the game doesn't start at all. When I force quit it, it wanted me to save changes to mplayer1. When I caved in and did so, it said the current build wasn't compatible. Anyone else run into this problem?

Have you changed something on your system since it worked? New graphic drivers, new security software etc.?
Which Windows version and what graphic card do you use?
Have you already tried running the game explicitly as Administrator by right-clicking the game's shortcut and selecting "Run as.."?
I haven't changed anything about my system since I got the game. I have Windows 7 (64-bit) and you an
AMD Radeon HD 7400M. I don't think that's the problem, though,
Have you tried running the game as an Administrator, as suggested?

If it doesn't work, disable User Account Control (UAC) and reinstall the game over your current installation.
To disable UAC, go to Start => Control Panel => User Accounts and Family Safety => User Accounts => Change User Account Control settings. Move the slider to the lowest position ("Never notify") and click OK.

Now reinstall the game by right-clicking the installer and using “Run as Administrator” and afterward run the game as an Administrator the same way.

Sorry for the long reply. Just tried it, but it still comes up with the same error message.
Never Mind. Turns out having Adobe Creative Cloud on in the background was to blame.
Thanks for letting us know.
