So while looking for ways to make this game run better etc. I came acoss this "unofficial patch" made by cubanraul.

Killing Time 2.1: http://cubanraul.altervista.org/kt/index.htm

I've not tested this patch yet with the GOG version of Killing Time. The only thing I did was uploading the "KillingTimeSetup.exe" file to Virustotal to make sure the file is clean.

Virustotal: https://www.virustotal.com/de/file/5e209a3a5bd8330c8e34450a0ba09179e33b8dc01accb90ac4d856a5f26e1c52/analysis/1528045016/

I'll try the patch later too see which stuff has been fixed.

If anyone else has already tried this patch before please share your experiences.

Have you try it? Does it work?

I installed the unofficial patch and played the game a little bit but I was not able to notice any differences. :(

Which is no wonder since the GOG version has the patch already applied. I compared the patchfiles with the one GOG installed and evcery file from the patch is identical to the one in GOGs release. :)

(Of course it might as well be that GOG applied the patch at a latrer time - don't know if the game received an update in the meantime - unfortunately my colors are still messed up on my Win7 and I tried everything. Only solution for me is dxwnd in a window)

As per PCGamingWiki it was already included into GOG version. This is one of the best sources for old games available.

Last time I tried to run this game I noticed the big difference in Galaxy and offline installer versions, both were almost unplayable on my Win7_x64 OS.

Now you made me curious. There's a big difference and both were always unplayable for you ... so what was the big difference? Usually both versions are identical.

GOG Galaxy version was kinda playable, but mouse buttons and sensitivity were funky, issues with cutsenes persisted.
Offline installer had either black screen with sounds or meshed color palette, like if 16-bit color app run in 32-bit mode (e.g. Command & Conquer 1, Starcraft 1 before patches).
too bad there isn't a joystick support with this unofficial patch....
Any chance we can get this updated to include the 3DO video files (The in-game ones, not just the cinematics) They seem to be much higher resolution despite everything else on that version being less good.

I would already be happy if the GOG team would finally update the game so it would include the latest version (v2.8) of the community patch and not a very outdated one (v2.1). Nothing has happened despite the fact I informed them.
This game is not bad, i like it and it have a big open world. But i was lost very fast. and i have to watch walkthrough-videos.
