I recently found myself frustrated that most numerous and regularly updated selection of mods around for Kenshi were limited to Steam Workshop, whilst my go-to platform for most things modding - Nexus - had a very limited selection by comparison.

Fortunately, after browsing through the Reddit pages for Kenshi, I happened across another site that appears to be regularly selecting some of the best mods around: http://catalogue.smods.ru/game/kenshi/

Many of the mods featured there were only available via Steam Workshop if you purchased the game via Steam, so for those of us who bought the game here at GOG, it's a very useful site to bookmark.

Of course, if anyone knows other sources for regularly updated Kenshi mods elsewhere, please feel free to share them.
Why would I bookmark a site that features mainly Steam-Mods?
Because if you bought the game here there are some mods that are solely available on stem, ergo you cannot get them otherwise.

You still cannot get them from Steam...

The point is, mods that were previously "exclusive" to Steam Workshop are available for download at that site. Effectively, someone has taken the time to download them from Steam Workshop, then share them at the site so people like ourselves who bought the game at GOG (or elsewhere beyond Steam), now have access to them.

If you look at the site before jumping to conclusions, you will note that whilst they show links to the original Steam Workshop page for each mod, they also have a big "DOWNLOAD" button where you can get the mods on offer. What's so difficult to comprehend about that? :)

What is so difficult to explain they mirror mods hosted on Steam?

No, I don't click on any link posted in forums.
disi I do not own the game on steam. If you have a way for me to still download mods from the workshop, feel free to make me and the others very happy. As for the moment if I try to download mods from steam for games that I own on GOG only, nothing happens if I subscribe. Except: a message pops up, that I have to start the game one time before the mods are downloaded. *I have to start it in steam.

HeathGCF claims you can download Steam-Mods from that website, not me.
I know and it works for me :) I can understand your concerns though.
Thanks a lot, HeathGCF.

Great to have access to these mods.
The site is regularly updated and has all the essential mods on it, and then some.
Getting steam mods for most games is as easy as copying and pasting the url into a steam workshop downloader. Sure this is technically considered pirating. It use originated in pirating community as a way to bypass the workshop DRM practice steam took. But this isnt their only use it also great for non-steam games. Steam has technically grown to big and one decision can drastically effect the community of a game.

1. Steam ruins the modding community by segmenting it as a DRM method. If you bought a retail copy/gog copy/ any other distributor because it was cheaper your basically SoL on games and cant download or discuss the mods and ask for help. UNLESS the modders spends a lot of extra time uploading else where which segments everything.

2. It also does it to the community at whole by not allowing people with a steam version to even participate in the general discussions which players are more active in due to how big steam is.

Know there is a lot more im forgetting but those are the main 2 reasons why pirating workshop mods on non-steam games. Its an extremely bad business practice and stance for steam to take just so they make more money at the expense of the gaming community as a whole.

-End of rant, BioHaze

p.s. current working one im using is "steamworkshopdownloader.io" search it because i will not provide a link as i cannot and dont care to validate the saftey of the site. . .

As with any non official links and 3rd party software.
use at your own risk.

We do not recommend using 3rd party software due to some reports of viruses and malware being injected.
I am just lucky to have a friend who owns the game on steam - simply asked him to download the mods for me. Uploaded to Google drive and viola! Obviously im not getting updates but ... eh? :P
Thanks for the useful info.
