So I always buy on GoG if I can, even if Steam has a sale on or something.
But this recent issue where the Kenshi update failed, and verifying wiped my whole game, got me looking again and Steam is currently on version 1.0.68 vs GoG on 1.0.65 .

And then I thought back to Spacebourne 2 which I own on GoG first, but bought on Steam as the Steam version is 3 or 4 versions ahead also. And various other games that are also a version, or more, behind Steam.

Is this a process thing that GoG verifies it more, so it takes longer to get the updates happening? It's not ideal to always be on an older version.

Depends on the developer or the publisher of the game. Some are super active and drop the update really quick and some need pitchforks. lol jokes asides GOG probably murked the newest version. So it's better to have a working version. New is not always better. Some Devs shoot themselves in the foot with it.

Oh nvm the 1.0.68 was april fools joke XD

I think something is screwing up here... They release 1.068 here, but only the exe file at 301MB. I sent in a ticket stating 7GB was missing from this latest update. It seems they restored the old 1.065 vs give us 1.068.

Strange things going on with this one.
Still missing the 1.0.68 update. And no, 1.0.68 was NOT an April Fool's joke.

I'm going to be refunding the GOG version next week if this is not resolved by then. I'm not getting stuck with another out of date GOG version of a game.

Noticed it too. Shame on gog or developers or whoever is responsible for this. Guess which platform customers gonna buy Kenshi 2. Sadly april fool jokes on the GOG consumer...

edit: You have to download GOG galaxy to play the 1.0.68 update and set to experimental.
So i'm guessing GOG is too lazy to implement a 27mb patch WOW

Just saw that on the update thread. Good news. I thought I was going to have to refund the game there for a second.
Nice. Any Idea how to delete/edit a review? Was my first time posting and thought it is similar to Steam system because of Early Access Titles in the store. Only option is to make it unhelpful and report it to staff. No idea how much this makes sense...
For those wondering, the Kenshi team were using a different method to push updates/builds to GOG, but it did not work as intended. That is why version 1.0.68 builds were corrupted. They had to implement a workaround by pushing the main build back to 1.0.65 and having 1.0.68/f as an experimental update through Galaxy.

I am just glad they were able to work things out and push 1.0.68f as the main build now.
Interesting to know, I'm very happy about it too, it seemed strange to me that the latest version was so late on GOG (after a problem that seemed to be just a wrong version upload - EDIT: I mean the version with offline installer) since it seems to me that Kenshi developers keep also experimental versions updated here, really appreciable (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong).
