Bought the game yesterday. Title says it.

Sometimes it crashes when I try to name the character, sometimes after I have already set up the character, sometimes when I click to begin playing.

When it crashes I don't see any message, it just sends me to desktop.

I have already tried verifying / repairing the game, lowering the graphics settings. I'm on a laptop but this machine has proven able to run other demanding games without problem before.

My mouse pointer vanishes randomly in the character creator, and it never comes back.

I am also playing a Laptop, but it ran Cyperpunk 2077 just fine, so the problem is very specific to Kenshi

I may have found the issue

I have no idea why it is this way, but I seem to have found two problems with the character creator. I was losing my mouse and having it hang, while it wasn't crashing, it wasn't letting me confirm and start the game either.

1) I have found it hangs on ultra-wide displays. The launcher and options let me pick the correct screen resolution ( 2560x1080 ), but randomly hang on various inputs, and the window is not displayed the correct aspect ( it looks like it gets squished to 1920 ).

2) I pulled the HDMI and used my laptops built in 1920x1080, and it was still not working until I killed the game, and turned off scaling. My laptop screen is a bit small so I typically run at 125%, and once it is off the character creator works fine.

I assume there is some hardcoded values and assumed aspect ratio, in the creator that caused both of these. I have played much, but once I have a character created, I seem to be able to plug my monitor back in and load the game just fine.
