I had to enable write permission in the game directory; otherwise it crashes (seg fault) with no hint because it can't create log.txt. I guess it stores everything else there, as well. Note that when I say "enable write permission", I really mean mount the root-owned game directory with with a copy-on-write overlay using unionfs, since I still refuse to let games write to their installed data.
As with many modern games, I had to manually disable iconification and borders in my window manager because otherwise it disappears when going full-screen (I can't force it to uniconify), and displays borders when it isn't iconified. Unlike most games, I couldn't do this using the window title for some reason, and had to use the X resource class (jh) instead.
My controller isn't recognized unless I delete the motion sensor and touchpad event devices, and even though it works then (including vibration), the button labels in-game are XBox only (mine is a Sony). Granted, ABXY is easier in ASCII than symbols, but this game is graphical anyway. Not that I need the controller, mind you, but I test it with every game that claims controller support anyway.
It asks me every time if I want to enable Vulkan. That's pretty annoying.
I hate the warped monitor effect (I have never had a real CRT terminal that looks that bad, including the el cheapos my university used), but I guess it's easy enough to turn off. I just guessed, though: it's not like the options are well-documented.
Now, if there were only a way to look around in this game. I guess that's a feature request. Or maybe a documentation deficiency. Hard to tell the difference.
