I don't know if I'm the only one having a problem with this, but here goes.
The game runs fine, the sound is good, and the video is great...but whenever I click on save or restore, the game crashes. Has anyone else had this problem?

thanks loblaw,
rather odd though that it was released vista certified so presumably it was tested and 92 people have given it 5 stars so is the problem pervasive or like most releases, happening to some but not to all? i have a netbook, win7 starter (32) so i'm wondering if you folks all have high end systems and it runs on low end systems like mine. i can't find a demo but again, how does it get 5 stars from 92 people and crash like you guys say it does?
Money back, please.
yeah, I'm really unhappy about this and I want to know who I contact about a refund.
At the very least I'd like to know if someone at GOG is looking into this?
I would also like to know who's working on this and when a fix can be expected. I really want to play JMP2, missed it during its original release, but if I cannot save the game, its pretty much unplayable.
I have Win 7 Pro 64, Radeon 4870, Catalyst 10.6, for what its worth. Seems like everyone with VIsta forward, 32 and 64 bit has this problem. Any XP users having the issue? Linux user's under Wine?

Yeah I have to say I'm not super thrilled that GOG hasn't popped in to say "we're aware of this and will work on it". It's ok not to have instant fixes, but some validation of our concerns / words of contrition would go a long way just in terms of goodwill.
I'm guessing it works on XP since no one has complained and because there are a ton of five-star votes, though some of those might have been people who raved without trying it (hate it when that happens!)
I am curious about WINE! Anyone want to pop it open? I knew I shouldn't have uninstalled linux.

I was going to test VirtualBox with an older Windows OS before I mucked around with Wine. I had Windows 2000 set up, just need a little updating, which seems to work fairly well, at least, it can save and restore.

I just installed the game on a XP machine and it's the same, crash to desktop as soon as i click on Restore on the menu, so it's not a Win7 or Vista issue.
Support doesn't work weekends which means we probably won't get a fix untill next week.
I gave it a try on an XP machine and was able to save and load without a problem. The only thing I changed was the install directory to C:\JP2
I thought having deeply nested directories with spaces might be causing the problem. The dialog box it brings up to save defaults to the "My Documents" folder and looks like the standard windows xp save dialog.
Unfortunately, this did not solve the problem on my Win7 (64bit) install.

Ok, thanks for that. I'll try another install path to see if i can get it working on XP.

For those of us who have Windows 7 Pro and 7 Ultimate use XP Mode. It works fine.
For those of us who have VISTA, install MS Virtual PC 2007 SP1 and then install Windows XP Home or Pro. Also install the Additions to Virtual PC that's included in the MENU. Then install the game.
I have tested this in both environments and works perfect. Let us know if you experience any issues.
PS: For better performance, disable Windows Visual, Restore Points, and Automatic Updates. A suggestion would also be to after the virtual machine is installed, SHUTDOWN, go to the Virtual PC settings and enable UNDO DISK support. So if something goes wrong, you can just delete the changes and you have a fresh install of windows.
Enjoy the game.

I'm guessing you don't run win 7 64 bit...
we probably won't get a fix untill next week.

yeah right... just so happens that's the same day i have a date with Alessandra Ambrosio!
Ok, so far i've tried this on 3 separate machines, 1 with Win 7 64 Ultimate and two with XP SP3. Same results on all of them, crash to desktop.
I'm going to give XP mode on Win7 a try and if that fails i have a 98SE VM on one of the XP machines and i'll try that, but i'm running out of options here.
Edit: It 's working in XP mode under Win7 64 Ultimate.
