I don't know if I'm the only one having a problem with this, but here goes.
The game runs fine, the sound is good, and the video is great...but whenever I click on save or restore, the game crashes. Has anyone else had this problem?

Thank you GOG, once again every game I've purchased from you works on my PC. I know you were under no obligation to seek out a fix for the issue as it was mostly effecting Windows 7 users but you did so all the same. And thank you _Zenger_, despite not even being a member of the GOG staff you helped out where you could. I have the next 2 days free so I'll be playing Buried in Time to completion then. I look forward to the release of Legacy of Time.
Yep, the fix works like a charm, thanks gog.
And a very big thanks to _Zenger_ who is rapidly becoming an invaluable member of the community. Awesome work mate, Thank You!

I hope he ends up in a GOG team eventually :).
Yes!! It now works with the patch. Thanks so much! :)
Same here, game crashes when trying to save. Thanx for the patch!
I installed patches from http://rapidshare.com/files/407967161/JP2_Patch.rar.html . I put then in the Journeyman top folder and game still crashes. What directory should they be located?

Thanks,
Kat
Game used to crash on save but have now fixed by using a tip from Andrew Mackenzie to delete(un install ) Groove from Microsoft Office.
This also fixed the same problem on Riven.
They all work fine.
Rapidshare is no longer available, is there any other place to find the patch?

Paczyk: It might take some time before the new version propagates throughout the server network.

Here are the patched files. You can replace the old ones, in the game's main folder, with those:
http://rapidshare.com/files/407967161/JP2_Patch.rar.html
I am also having the same crash problem with JP3-LOT restore/save games. Is there anyone that still has the patch and could possibly provide another upload?
This is why people need to upload files like this to more than one place to have plenty of backups so the rest of us aren't left in the dust.

Having the same problem and the file is no longer available.

Working on trying to fix it myself.

Otherwise, give up and just get Virtual Machine if you still have the installation discs for the old operating systems, which all of us good nerds do.

Likewise having issues. I have been able to save without crashing twice, but now that I have multiple save files neither will load. I'd appreciate it if the patch files could be reuploaded to a new site since rapidshare is no longer available.
The issue with crashing game (BIT:LOT) when trying to load saved game is NOT SOLVED on W7 64-bit, so status should be unsolved.

Still no fix on this front. Matter has been retroactively unsolved with the loss of rapidshare - please respond accordingly.
Likewise. Waiting on a re-post of the patch. Rapidshare is gone.
I solved the problem by installing Virtualbox and running a 32 bit version of windows 7 on it. No problems there.
