I'm running OsX 15.1 - the latest upgrade. when I try and start up Jazz Jackrabbit, nothing happens - DosBox doesn't even get as far as launching before it dies.

Anyone know how I can get the game working with Mac? I really want to play this again!

Huh, funny. OpenJazz doesn't exist for MacOS. You could try manually building, but I'd also suggest giving Dosbox Staging a try.

Many GoG DOS game release "setups" are old. And use an 'old' DOSBox inside the "package".
My recommendation, grab an updated alternative DOSBox that is OSX 15 compatible.

Like:
https://dosbox-x.com/
https://www.dosbox-staging.org/releases/macos/

Then, double finger the heck out of that ol' touchpad on the JJ package and "Show package contents" and find and extract just the actual game files folder. (packagename\COntents\Resources\game)
Setup your newer DOSBox download/install to your hearts content, mount the game files folder as the internal DOSBox C drive and play away.

Yes, requires learning about DOSBox. Yes, requires learning about DOS, kind of. And yes, not easy and automatic anymore like the package was... uh, intended to be anyways.

Note: You may be able to copy the dosbox executable you downloaded to inside the "package" in the dosbox folder.
(packagename\Contents\Resources\dosbox). I am unsure how well this would work. The new dosbox name would have to match and overwrite the previous version exactly, otherwise would have to modify the "script" file within the package. I will try this once my work Macbook is done updating to 15.2

Eh, trying to copy new/different version of a dosbox into game package seems just as, maybe more, complicated than just copying out the games game folder and resetting up elsewhere (libraries and such). Maybe can use https://dbgl.org to make some of this easier?
