I know JA2 is only listed as compatible with XP/Vista, but I was wondering if it will also work with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. I'd really like to pick it up during this weekend sale, but if it's not going to run, I'd rather not waste the money.

Mine runs fine on Windows 7 home edition 64-bit. Don't even need the compatibility settings. It does seem to complain that the program 'has stopped working' after I quit out of it but I just tell it to close the program and all the saves are fine when I reload the game.

Edit: You should still run it as an administrator though if you install it to the defualt program files folder.

The game itself runs fine for me, but the problem is the resolution/screen size. The game only occupies the middle of the screen, around it it's just black. Any idea how to fix this? Or should I contact the GOG.com support team?

What graphics card and monitor do you use?
Its my experience if you wanna run 1.13 on W7 you have to use the compatibility settings.
Works perfectly on Windows 7 x86 and x64.

Yeah, should have posted that in my previous post. It's an Acer Aspire 5710G laptop with Radeon HD 2300 card. Maybe it's not even Win7 but the laptop?

If you open your ATI control panel do you have any scaler options?

If your running a radeon card you should have an ATI control panel for it or beable to download one from the ATI website. It should have scaler options to get games to fit monitors/screens properly.
I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and yes the game will work.

On my Win7 x64 Enterprise the game force closes quite often in random parts of the game - even if i'm using compatibility settings (that only repairs the bug of force close when you try to quit...). Alt-tabing from the game and returning to the game causes some incredibly annoying mouse and keyboard issues which force you to close the game.
I was able to run JA2 on WIndows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. However i cannot load saved games. :(

Click on the JA2 icon with your right mouse button and choose "Run as administrator" from the menu. I am not sure if this will allow you to load the previously saved states but it should work with future saves. To always start JA2 with admin rights, right-click the icon, choose "Properties", open the "Compatibility" tab and check the "Run this program as an adminstrator" box near the bottom.

Thanks! It works now.
