Hello,

I decided for fun to do a game (vanilla game), using only one mercernary, just to know where I can get before I get killed.

So a question comes to mind:

How assault weapons appear on the enemy corpses? I mean by that, early in the game in the first days, the guards are armed only with pistols but later they have assault rifles, so I ask myself:

Is a random value that make them better equipped?
Or a specific sector?
Or maybe after a cutscene of the queen makes them better equipped?

Because I have noticed that in Drassen sector in both areas before mine, the guards have only simple pistols and no assault rifle.

In short all that to say that if I go only armed with a gun, it's a bad beginning for me, even with the best of mercenary ^^

Of course I do not intend to make a whole game or capture several cities because it would be too tense and I do it only for fun.

That will be determined by your game progress. You can see there are a couple of factors (which you adjust in 1.13) but it mostly boils down to securing important locations on the map. I'm not sure how many locations you'd have to secure before you start to get access to assault rifles. Perhaps 2 or so. Bobby Ray should get it earlier under 'used items' but you'll need someone to repair the weapon.
Enemy weapons are determined by two factors: game progresses and distance to Queen's palace.

So, if you wandering down to Meduna you may encounter quite good equipment even at low progress probably (but I'm not sure how good it will be with no progress at all).
After taking Drassen, I always immediately head for Alma. It's close enough to make it early and you can find some decent rifles there.
Okay, now I understand better, thank you for this information.
