I've seen it at several other places before and cheaper.
Most reviews state is as mediocre. From what I've read years ago, there's a must have mod (don't know the name) which significantly improves the game.

I own it on DVD from Matrix from many years ago and haven't had it installed for many years. I'd say it is better than "mediocre" but not fantastic. Sort of a cross between JABIA And JA2: 3d pannable zoomable combat maps with enemies not visible until a soldier spots them. Fairly unforgiving combat dynamics until you get the hang of it.

Fun game! Well worth getting. I don't think I ever used any mods on it, though I can certainly imagine how some things would have been much improved with mods. The camera in particular was a problem.

The must-have mod is Fine Tuned (v1.7) and there's a link for it in the Matrix Games HG:JE forum under "Mods". Seems to work fine under Win 10, haven't tried Wine. Needs DX9.

It's not Jagged Alliance, but it's not too bad for a tbs game. Very little info out there for it, but the Matrix forum has a bit.

I bought the CD version from Matrix Games several years ago. I found the game to be very poor myself and was surprised to find there are fans of this game. So I decided to try and install the game again (see if I were missing something...) but the game does not run on Windows 10 (x64). Gives a complicated error message and no compatibility options work.

Actually it works fine on Win10 1909 right out the box. Currently playing it today. Download the 1.08 patch and then the 1.09 Fine Tune mod patch (both on Matrix games forum) I have it running with Win7 compatibility. I bought this at a used bookstore for $5 several years ago. Not worth the $30 Matrix is selling it for on it's website, but it's an okay game to scratch the JA itch and I don't feel like dealing with JA2 1.13 mods. I
