Hello ppl!

I played alot of JA2 as a youngling and when I saw the deal to buy it, download it and play it through gog.com I didnt hesitate to buy the shit :) Its a great game and its meant to be played!

Im running on windows 7 and had no problems installing it, or playing it for that matter.

I didnt have much time to play yesterday so I made my own merc, hired some mercs and just cleared out the first zone then I saved the game and went to sleep.

Now when I go in and try to load any of my 2 saveslots, it loads a bit (bar turns red, then half-blue) and then I get the message "Error loading the game!". It doesnt matter witch one of the 2 slots I choose.

How can I solve this? Im running on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

Every time I quit JA2 I get a error message saying that the program has stopped working, you think it has something to do with it? :)

please assist!

The stop working on quit is normal, disregard it.
The savedgames is a problem with UAC. Your saved games are currently located at "C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Jagged Alliance 2\saves" folder (or equivalent"). You should either run the game as an administrator, install in a non-UAC controlled directory, or adjust the security settings so you have write access to the game's directory.

All three methods will require you to move/copy your saves from the virtualstore to the game's directory.
I've the same problem, but when I run the game as administrator, game claims that there aren't any save files so I would be forced to create a new game =P So could you please tell me how to make it so that I can load my save file while running game as an administrator?
One option is to reinstall the game in a different folder (c:\games\ for example) and then copying the saves from the location mentioned in post #2 to the new game folder

Yeah, like you noticed in other thread, I had checked this thread first ^^; (I made the second one since I wasn't sure if anyone would check this one because its old one...) Anyway, game is installed in program files in gog folder and the save is in user one... I need step by step guide ^^;

I mean, I would have done things in the above post, but I have no clue how to do them ^^;

Edit: Nevermind managed to figure it out

I was having the very same problem but running in admin mode and copying my saves over to the game directory fixed the "error loading" problem thanks JMich!!
