Quitting this game through the game menu or by ALT+F4 makes my whole system freeze, so I have to restart my computer with the power button (For some reason, even reset doesn't work).

I have an Asus Mainboard so I have to go through this "Overclocking Failed" crap eacht time I do this. My system doesn't hang when I exit Jade Empire through ALT+TAB and close the game after that, but I keep forgetting to do it this way, click on quit or press ALT+F4 and start cursing.

Besides, why do I have to quit this game in a special manner to avoid system freezes? How stupid is that? I had to restart my system at least 20 times now because of this game, which I really hate to do. Playing Jade Empire it has been nothing but a nightmare to me.

I think that at least for me this game is absolutely FUBAR and should never have been released by GOG in this state.

It seems to me laying blame on GOG is not helpful. I've, and others, have played this game on many different operating systems with no problem whatsoever.

Instead of ranting why don't you give us your system specs and maybe we can help.
Hm, I guess you could consider my post ranting, sorry about that. My specs are: i7 3820, gtx 1070, win10 64, 16gb ram, 256 gb ssd. Not sure something can be done about my problem though, nobody seems to have these freezes except for me.

I'm getting this too with the Steam version. I'm able to recover by turning off my monitor and turning it back on, but even then it can take a few minutes for things to settle down as windows keep "flickering" and the CPU is still running at ~70%. I think it must be related to my desktop being set to 4K, and I have a 150% text enlargement. (I also have JE running at 4K.) Turning the monitor off and back on causes Windows to re-adjust windows and text enlargement. I have a GTX 1080. I'll try killing JE from the task manager.
One workaround for this problem is to make the game run in borderless window. You need make the game run window instead of fullscreen (you can find the option in games settings) and you need a program that can force the game to run in borderless window, I used this program: http://westechsolutions.net/sites/WindowedBorderlessGaming/download
