Hello GoG´s,

is there a way to toggle Walk and Run?
I dont want to speedrun through the levels.
The only way yet is to press and hold shift.
But thats not a good solution for me.

Open the console (Shift+key under escape) and enter
cl_autorun 0

Mate, THANK YOU! This was about to be a deal-breaker for me.

One of the attractions of old-school FPS' are being able to run through them at break-neck speeds but I've always preferred to take my time and move at a reasonable pace. It seems the actual key-bind for run-toggle in the options menu disappeared with the full release.
Then how does one run, after changing the console config, and how does one assign alternate fire key which is deactivated on my Key-bindings setting?

With the key that previously made you walk, i.e. shift per default.

It looks weird on my end as well, because it displays nothing as the first key, but it works as expected. If you want to assign it to the mouse, you have to use the separate mouse button menu. Maybe that's your problem.

Thank you very much, @mk47at. I'll try tham!
For me, cl_autorun 0 just makes you walk, and run when you hold shift. It doesn't act as a toggle, though, which is what UnicoNoco was looking for. I would imagine to get a toggle it would need some kind of key binding to set cl_autorun 0/1 depending on the current setting.

you can enter 'bind LShift "toggle cl_autorun"' on the console (accessible with ctrl+~) to do this

Thanks, just tried that and it does work. Kind of. It seems that it constantly toggles between run and walk for the duration of the button press, and switches very quickly, so in the time that it takes to press and release the LShift key it can end up in the same mode it was in before it was pressed, giving a toggle that sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. Most noticeable when moving forwards whilst pressing it.

I like crouchwalking when I wanna slow down. There's a crouch toggle key you can map. So much better than holding to crouch.
I spoke to the developer on Discored. He says it is coming.

Gotta admit that was an odd oversight. Toggling autorun was always in build engine games (usually mapped to capslock), and is there in eDuke. Interesting they didn't add it to Ion Fury here...
