This had a kickass soundtrack. Here's hoping that it becomes a downloadable soon :D
Agreed. The soundtrack was one of the best game soundtracks ever. 's why I have it in iTunes. Now I just need to know if the gog version of the game supports 3d acceleration...

Dang! And here I was thinking that it was available at the iTunes Store! :-P Well, I never had this game but I do like that funky style of music. EDIT: Actually, I wouldn't mind if No One Lives Forever and its soundtrack also popped up here.
Wikipedia suggests that the Arsenal Edition actually includes the Gold Edition, which supposedly features improved graphics over the original. Hope this is true...

Yeah, I just ripped the audio files from the original game's cd, but apparently there was a proper soundtrack cd available, too.
Sometimes they add the soundtracks later on. I'm really hoping that's the case here.
Nice to see I'm not alone in wanting this. I'm hoping to create a groundswell of support for this :D Keep it up everyone...
Considering that the original game disc could be played in any CD player (provided you skipped Track 1, I believe) I don't think it's too far-fetched for us to expect the soundtrack as DLC for this purchase.
Granted, I do still have my original game discs, but you can be assured I'll be buying the GoG version for the convenience of compatibility with modern hardware.

Some screens show 3D acceleration, some don't. I don't know if that means only the expansion has 3D acceleration or what.
I have to wonder if the game will have the soundtrack at all. The game originally used redbook audio. Games like Quake 1&2 and Jedi Knight which also used redbook audio are now on Steam without any music at all.
If the code for the game still exists, you can recode it to use mp3s instead of redbook. Quake 1&2 were made open source, and there are unofficial versions made by fans that do that. But I76 is not open source, and most of the time source code for old games is just discarded, so in all likelihood, the code for I76 doesn't exist any more.
Maybe the exe can be reverse-engineered and hacked to use mp3s, but that's just theory and I don't know if such a thing is possible. I've never heard of it being done before.
Even the game's wikipedia page links to a site that has the full soundtrack for download. Just mentioning.

If there ever was a soundtrack that was worthy enough for a "greater than 128K" encode of CBR mp3 - This would be it.
I realize some people can't discern the difference but when it comes to CBR mp3, I'm a 192k minimum kind of guy. My personal choice is lossless unless restricted by the playback device. I can't even bring myself to encode less than 320k for mobile devices.

Thank you for that! I still hope GOG does a more "official" one :)
The game (and the addon) music tracks are provided as 192k mp3 files. Still no proper soundtrack album, though.

Yeah, Activision briefly sold their soundtrack CD directly (not distributed anywhere, just direct sale). I bought 2, but after giving one away I had managed to misplace my only CD copy sometime over the last decade, still irks me to this day :)
