Hi,

i've just installed this great game but when i try to run it, the game asks me to insert CD 2 ?

Have i missed something ? cause I haven't seen any thread speaking of such a problem.

I'm on win 7 64bits and have installed the game in win 98 compatibility mod.

That's weird. Are you running as administrator? If not, that might help. Otherwise, I don't know. Anyone else have ideas?

Yup, I'm administrator, and even when I right click on desktop icon > run as administrator, it asks me for CD2.

Gonna try to get a No-cd or something

My solution is probably no good to most of you. I installed it to XP which I have on another PC.

I've run into the same problem a lot in my various efforts to get the game running decently. The short answer is don't set a compatibility mode, that causes the "Insert CD 2" error on Win 7 64 for me too. Other than that, just install the game normally and deal with all the other other problems in the usual way as mentioned in the other threads. :/

Sadly, the launcher in the first sticky thread is missing at the moment.

edit: of course, I say that having not played the game in a few months. Now I get the error no matter what I do, even after uninstalling and re-installing the game. :(

Fixed!

Sent a ticket to GOG. They suggested turning off UAC in Windows 7 Control Panel.

Worked like a charm!
