I've managed to get the game working on my XP machine. But the cut scene's get about 2/3rds of the way through and then start to stutter. Anyone know a solution to this? Thanks!

Do you have the game to run in Win95/98 Comapatibality mode? That might help.

I have tried that to no avail. Thanks for the suggestion though.
I'm not sure if this will work for I'76, but for some other old games, stuttering cutscenes can be solved by trying one or both of the following:

1) Set the game's affinity for only one core of your multi-core processor (I am assuming you have a multi-core processor). Do this by opening the task manager (with the game running), finding the game's process, right-clicking, and choosing "set affinity". In my own presonal experience, old games that I have tried to run are automatically set to only one of the cores already, but if it isn't, try setting it to CPU 0.

2) Set the game's priority to low. This is also done in the task manager. Right-click the process, and pick "set priority". Switch it to low.

Unfortunately, these tasks need to be done every time you launch the game. If the multi-core thing is the problem, there is a program called imagecfg that will let you PERMANENTLY set the processor affinity for the game so you don't have to do it from the task manager every time you run it. I have not used this program personally but it seems to be highly recommended by others who have had trouble running older games.

if you try these, let me know if they work.

Meant to reply sooner. I'm running it on a netbook, so it's not a problem with a multi-core. I tried setting the priority to low and it unfortunately didn't help.

I have found a work around though, if I alt tab out of the game and back in the cut scene doesn't stutter any more. But, I don't really want to have to play the whole game through that way, but it will do for now.

Anyway, thanks for the help and if anyone comes up with another suggestion it would be appreciated.

Have you tried incorporating nGlide as outlined in this thread?

No, I will give it a go tonight though and report back. Bit concerned about doing anything that may effect the game itself, as I have no problems with that and it seems people have a lot of problems with it.
