Hello guys, I have a dozen of these sitting in my inventory. Is there any reason why I shouldn't just vendor them off? What are the purpose of these gems?

Thank you!

I'd like to know this as well, do they serve some purpose later in the game?
I really hope they're not used for anything because I've been vendoring them all. I got in the habit of reading the description and if it didn't mention it being used in some way I sold it. However for some reason I've kept all the troll bile that's dropped.. Go figure. I guess troll bile sounds like something that would be used in some heretics ritual and gems are typically cash loot in games.

Knowing my luck the bile is complete trash and the gems are used for some quest.

I tried to sell the bile and it told me I couldn't sell it because it's a quest item, so no.
eh? strange with all the posts I see about people accidentally selling/destroying quest items I figured the game didn't have a 'quest item' tag. Go figure.

Well I guess I'll hang on to the bile for a while.
items with their name in white are quest items, others can be sold.
so what is this troll bile for? i have collected quite a lot of those, but dunno what to do with them :P

I was saving them at first but you get so many it would take up too much inventory space to keep them. I'm at the end of Act 1 and haven't seen any other uses for them so far.

I'd also like to know what the Troll Bile is for, does anybody know ?

It will be useful in Act 3 :)

Only one is needed though.

Huh, I guess I'll better stash them somewhere till that then. BTW, if you drop an item on the ground it doesn't disappear, right? And you can travel back to every city in every moment of the game, right?

They should not disappear but I've noticed that if you have a few items on the ground you game will start act funny, laggy and I think it adds to some memory leak. I would put them in a chest if possible.

yup it doesn't get lost, you can even have fun "stashing" your ally npcs (the dog mostly) somewhere by killing him, he'll stay here as long as you don't resurect him. (don't laugh, it's actually usefull considering how often he dies anyway)

Wait, your allies have an inventory or what do you mean?
No inventory, he is just saying you can keep your allies in one location by killing them there.

As to actual storage space as a Thief, I use the chests in Hillbrandt to keep my gems, roots, uniques, and so forth - they have five slots for each chest, so it is very handy.

How? If I use thieving (disciple / lvl2) or Shatter (student / lvl2 a guard will come running. :(
