I've been playing for a couple hours (mostly questioning townspeople) and have run into a problem.

Every time I leave town, my Stamina empties after a few fights with bats. I tried waiting for it to regenerate but that will take ages, it seems. I've tried re-rolling my character and seeing if different stats helped, but it hasn't really seemed to make a difference.

Am I doing something wrong or should I just be buying a load of stamina and health potions before I leave town?

I'm playing on normal, also. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You can use Stamina potions, and there is the Endurance spell which allows you to recover Stamina more quickly. If you stand by friendly priests and friars, they will heal your health for free, but won't cure you. Note that in some places like, the Executioner's Grounds you can have enemies follow you to the local guards, which gives you allies to help with killing them dead.

The Priest class comes with a Mana Recharge skill which uses stamina to recharge Mana, which you can then spend on healing or stamina boosting spells. Some gear also boosts regeneration factors.

There is a dog in the dungeon of the Sheriff station who will join your party, if you need someone to help take a bite out of the opposition. The big cemetery has a healing fountain, though I think it only works a couple of times before giving out.

One last note: Don't stick around in dungeons, enemies respawn after some time, so you might find areas you cleared with new enemies. I find that having better weapons is very helpful.

Oh, and press 'D' to keep your NPC allies from drinking your potions - they go for the good ones first, which is a pretty bad habit in my opinion.

Ive started a Priest and a Paladin, id say that the Paladin regenerates stamina much faster, and its because of having more of the Constitution stat.

Does anybody play it first time on difficulty higher than easy?
The stamina is quite system in this game is quite peculiar. You won't regenerate stamina unless you stay still not moving and this take a lot of time.

Why can't they make the stamina to regenerate when walking? And I can't really tell if my character is walking or running because running is just a faster walking.

Apparantly the difference between difficulty levels in the game is monster strength and item quality - the higher the difficulty, the better items you get.

This game has many flaws on the gameplay side. I am hoping that the developers learn a lot from this. It would be nice if they either make a game more suited to Inquisitor's investigation aspect (like the Phoenix Wright games), or do a much better job with balance and gameplay mechanics.

Inquisitor is one of those games that I am playing for the story, not the gameplay.

I did notice I found better quality items faster in Medium rather than Easy, but those items still showed up regardless of difficulty. I'm wondering if the option just makes the chance better instead of locking you out of equipment altogether.

Yeah, you should play on Hard. To be honest, I started with "10's" in every stat at the start.
Play on hard. Not that hard really. You get some really nice items in the starter town, extra gold from: an n.p.c. if you "listen" to his story.

Listen and look everywhere inside and outside of town. As a Priest, I gained my follower and headed to the graveyard and was level 7 before 5 hours had passed. I'm now level 14 from grinding a bit.

Game is incredible. Hard gives you items quickly.....at the beginning.....and some nice unique ones at that. Happy gaming.

Patience and paying attention to what you read, and USE THE ALT KEY to identify things.
Perception is awesome rp skill, and works great.

Flagentallism for the priest reduces damage by a lot.

Stamina regenerates with the right magic and skills. Use your brain, and you will be rewarded.

What spells did you have available to use against the bats in the beginning?

low your voice cocky troll.. i watched some lets play and this game is not that easy to play. 30min of bat finding where after you loose stamina you become useless warrior. Its not that fun.

The spells fail too much to be of any use against the bats on the first screen. You're better off using melee/ranged weapons to kill them

About stamina, there are a lot of +stamina regen items in the shops, I stacked a few of those and my stamina regens pretty fast.

One thing I'm noticing is that you really have to specialize to be good at anything. I picked one school of magic and my spells seem to hit about 70% of the time

"my stamina is low", waaaaaahhhhh. "I don't know how to drink stamina potions"....I can't use the magic rune that casts fireballs, given to every character at the beginning.

Easy game...... but only easy if you have a brain.

Come down off your pedestal and appreciate the fact that however you look at it, the stamina system is a bad one. Being forced to chug potions constantly, and ultimately being screwed if you don't have any, is not a good feature.

Well yes, Inquisitor pretty much skipped 12 years of RPG developement. Is it a good or a bad thing? Depends on who you ask I guess. Personally, I say mostly bad (I still love Inquisitor for whatever reason tho. The game just sort of grows on you.)

Well it could be worse. We could have auto regening hp/stam/mana bars. Would totally take the challenge out of the game. That said they could have done a better job with the interface/micro management.

But I'm likewise loving inquisitor for reasons I can't fathom.
