I realize this has been discussed elsewhere, and I understand how the quest is supposed to work. I'm at a point where I've heard him claim that he is immortal several times, but when I talk to Enrie, there is no dialog choice to ask how to kill Istwan. I have had holy water in my inventory the whole time, but this has not helped in repeated attempts to kill Istwan. Clearly you need the dialog with Enrie to progress.

My question is, does this quest need to be completed or can I just abandon it as broken and continue on with everything else.
To answer your question first - no, you do not need to complete this quest to be able to continue the main story.

But looking into both Istwan's and Enrie's dialogue script I can see no reason why the quest shouldn't work as intended. When you first talk to Istwan, a game should make an internal note to itself "TalkedToIstwan = 1". And when you talk to Enrie then and the game can see that "TalkedToIstwan = 1", it gives you an option to say: "I found out that Istwan de Bragho have risen from his...". At that point, Enrie tells you about Holy Water and the game makes a note "Jungwirdt02". And when you go back to Istwan then with Holy Water, talk to him and the game can see that "Jungwirdt02" was noted and you have Holy Water in your inventory, you should be able to say: "You're wrong! The holy water will strip you..." and kill Istwan.

But if this still doesn't work you could also send me your latest save to kovar[@]cinemax.cz and I would try to fix it for you. It is naturally possible that something went wrong somewhere but it is hard to tell what and why.

Hello,
after 4 years I'm playing Inquisitor and I have the same problem, there is no dialog with Enrie to ask how to kill Istwan (I already talked to him). How can I edit my save.dpk file?

GabiMoro: How can I edit my save.dpk file?
There is actually no way, that I would know of, to edit the file itself but because I have a few developer tools at my disposal I can fix some issues in saved files. If you want me to look at your latest save, please send it to kovar[@]cinemax.cz.

Thanky you!

Are you one of the developers?

No, I was responsible for finishing the English version of Inquisitor and I am still visiting Inquisitor's forums trying to help any players in need.
For those who have no dialog with Enrie about killing Istwan, after he said "Sssee, mortal? You cannot kill me. Nobody can .....", the problem is solved in the latest version of Inquisitor: 1.10.18.

Thank you Kovi for pointing that out.
