I'm thinking of playing it. How much of the game is investigation / detective stuff, and how much is mindless Hack&Slash? I really like isometric detective / story-driven games like Planescape:Torment, Daemonica, Disco Elysium etc., but I'm not a fan of Diablo and endless combat. Do the investigations feature different outcomes and require critical thinking, or is it very linear and just a backdrop for Hack&Slash?

I haven't finished the 1st act yet, but I would say 30% detective sleuth and 60% combat and 10% bugs.

The investigations feature a significant amount of dialogue. On top of that, every weapon, armor, arrow, etc. in the game has a detailed lore description, made even more interesting (IMO) since things in the game are loosely based on things in the real world (and their history).

Each character has different side quests which give extra (and different) rewards. Most investigations have only one "proper" outcome, although you can accuse (and torture) the wrong suspect in a number of them. I'm not sure if it's possible to progress without eventually accusing the correct suspect, but I believe it might be possible to condemn the innocent to death (not sure on this though).

That said, unfortunately there is a LOT of combat, and the combat portions of the game tend to go on forever it seems. And the combat isn't even any good, even by the standards of a bad Diablo clone. You can get companions to help out, which does help. Also, one very important point: do NOT play on easy, as that actually makes the game harder (because it debuffs your companions just as much as the enemies, so they die faster). I've tried on hard, and while that was much better, by the mid-point combat became a ridiculous slugfest against arrow sponges. I believe playing on normal might be more bearable.

Unfortunately the dialogue is in my opinion interesting enough to play the game. I say unfortunately because every time I play this, the combat annoys me.
