I've tried looking at walkthroughs but even then I can't seem to figure this out.
I've tried brute-forcing it but I've not managed to reach the combination yet.

If anyone could help It'd be appreciated.

I've included screenshots of the disc and the in-game book.

Where are you right now?

If this is the Labyrinth room with the miniature of Atlantis:
* Sunstone: put the noon/midday sun next to the tall horns (as usual).
* Moonstone: new moon (darkest night) next to the rising sun (dawn), just like you should have done at the ruins in Crete.
* Worldstone: city in Worldstone next to waning moon in Moonstone.

If this is the entrance to Atlantis:
"Final entrance yielded only to contrary minds" means that the discs must be placed on the opposite positions (rotate them 180°). So the noon/midday sun must be on the lowest point on the screen, then align the Moonstone and Worldstone with the new positions. Just from the picture I can't tell if they are correct.

If this is later in the game:
I don't want to spoil it just yet, let me know if you've already gone through the previous two. ;)

If you still have problems to continue feel free to share a savegame file so I can take a look.

I tried it just now and I get the "That didn't do anything" message.

Am I missing some other step or have I hit a glitch?
I'm the wit's path.

I'm in the room with the minature atlantis.

I can't see the picture that you attached, but if you share a ScummVM savefile I will happily take a look.

Without a save it's a bit hard to tell, but the discs seem to be correctly aligned.

Something that some people claim (which I've never been able to confirm) is that sometimes they had to turn the discs 90, 180 or 270 degrees.

Are you playing the GOG version/ScummVM emulator or with DOSBox?

GOG ScummVM

Here's my save file.

I have loaded the savefile and I agree with the way you had placed the discs in your picture (I even searched for a couple of guides). I have also tried several other combinations (e.g. rotating 90°), to no avail. I can't explain why the combination according the Lost Dialogue doesn't work. :(

I haven't played this path before, but I don't think it should be an issue.

I think there is an issue with this game and DOSBOX. The last time I played it, I had to have the discs improperly aligned in order to make things work, and I think that was in the final disc room.
