Every time I approach the lagrange point in the second training mission the game crashes. I've ran the game in compatibility mode for both windows xp and 95 but the game still crashes. Does anyone know of a solution?

Is it when you're passing through the circle to jump? Because I think that's a symptom of the game freaking out if you're not using a compatible video driver... using nGlide or the equivalent helps.

Thanks for the help. I've installed nGlide like you suggested but it's had no effect. Do I need to select the new driver in game somehow?
This sounds like the same thing as https://www.gog.com/forum/independence_war_series/hyperspace_crash_iwar

The linked https://www.i-war2.com/documents/help/faq/faq-technical/faq-technical-iwar1 indicates that "[setting] the compatibility mode of the game to Windows 95" might resolve this issue.

Failing that, you can try the more involved process to run the game using the Defiance game engine.

No, the game has no idea that Glide wrappers even exist, let alone that there could be multiple options.

I'm not sure about nGlide specifically, but in general you would look for files in the game directory with "glide" in the filename (e.g. "glide2x.dll") and make backup copies of those, and then (depending on whether the new glide wrapper was being installed globally or locally for a specific game) you may or may not need to add in certain glide files from the new wrapper's distribution.

I am *guessing* that you have installed nGlide globally, and so I would further guess that if you simply remove the existing glide files in the game directory to a backup directory, the new nGlide would then kick in.

You might want to check nGlide documentation, though.
