Post your I-War 2: Edge of Chaos resources here!
As with the I-War (1) thread, it would be good to collect together a list of useful resources for players. Documentation, modding resources, artwork and other media, and anything else that you think other players might find useful.

Here's couple I could find straight away that at least exist:
Independence War II - Edge of Chaos Community
Buda 5 v2.0 or use the front page to access either Buda 5 site.
One more:
Torn Stars: Unstable Space

The "official" mods, from Particle Systems, on this page are very good and fix some gameplay problems. The best one out of the all is the "custom Jafs" mod which allows you to give Jafs a mega transport which lets him pick up several times as many containers. This is very useful as you don't have to wait around for him to leave, so you can tag more containers.

I wrote many of the Particle Systems mods, including the Custom Jafs one. In fact I wrote the Jafs in-game behaviour.
Multimod is the most essential mod, as it enables more than one scripted mod to be running at the same time.

I think I love you <3
It's my favourite game of all time! The only problem I have with it is that it's not long enough :(
Does anyone have some experience playing the Torn Stars mod? Is it good?
I like I-War 2, but it has some minor flaws such as the absence of a quick-save function..
This and the other resources thread should be stickied.

I've been sifting through the small number of game mods, and through the even-fricking-less modding info, and dug up this little gem, which should be of interest to anyone who wants to mod the game.

Sim and Subsim Creation - by Particle Systems

to the best of my knowledge, it's the only real source of info for modding the game. I'm going to try to use it to create a multiplayer map with some significantly bigger fish in it: a few capital ships, and some fighters. My goal is to create a small carrier battle.

Another modding source available here:

http://www.i-war2.com/downloads_3.htm

About 80% of the way through, there's a link to what appears to be an official SDK.
Just wondering, since there's very little documentation about it, what are the options you can choose for the jafs_ship line? The txt file only mentions freighter (jafs_ship = ini:/sims/ships/utility/freighter), but it never mentions the full list of options possible.

Check here to see if something works name-wise through trial-and-error: https://www.i-war2.com/documents/ships/freighters

I'm not finding a list anywhere, either. Then again, my duckduck-fu may not be the best.

Edit: if you're trying to use the Colossus mod for Jafs, enter jafs_ship = ini:/sims/ships/player/colossus

Get that mod here: https://www.i-war2.com/downloads/download/54-ships/109-colossus
