I initially installed this game and it worked flawlessly, now when I run the game it says it can't find a suitable driver and won't launch.

It detects my intel graphics hd chip and says it's not capable of 3d acceleration, but all other games I have work fine with direct 3d.

What's weird is this one used to work.

I don't know what happened,

any ideas?

I had that too when I fiddled around with the compatibility modes.
In my case the flux.ini bacame corrupted somehow, luckily I had a backup of it.
If you don't have a backup of your flux.ini, try renaming or deleting it, maybe it makes a new flux.ini.

I fixed it. A driver from intel I downloaded was not right and it disabled direct draw.

Luckily I used a restore point and got it working.

Thank god for restore points. Now I'm trying to practice what I preach. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.....
That advice came a bit too late for me. My EoC copy refused to work after I fiddled with compatibility modes. Since I did not have a backup copy, I could only re-install the game. Since I copied my saves to a save place, I didn't lose anything.

To anyone planning to edit the flux.ini or doing any other fixes/workarounds for this game, be advised to save the flux.ini or even better the whole game folder. It should be no big deal, it's just 1 GB after all.
