I am thinking about buying il2 1946 but I just have a few questions before I do:

1. Does the game come with a dynamic campaign or do you have to download it seperately from the Internet?

2. Is there any way to make the maps in the game look better? From what I have seen they look pretty dated.

3. Would you recommend I get this game from gog.com or from amazon?

The game comes with dynamic campaigns and all the tools to create your own, but you can download extra campaigns too if you desire. On a personal note, though IL-2 says the campaigns are dynamic, I don't consider them to be just that, still they're a lot of fun nonetheless.

If you are going to use this mod don't install any patches, just install IL-2 and then run the mod install.
After that, run selector.exe to select the Dark Blue World mod and everything will look a lot better. Also make sure you turn anti-aliasing on for the il2fb.exe within your videocard settings.

it says on the games features that it includes the original Il2 sturmovik, how do you play that one, i can only start 1946

Sorry for the late reply, but I own the original IL-2 Sturmovik (2001) and 1946 (2006) and as far as I can tell all the assets (planes, campaigns, maps, etc.) from the 2001 game are in the 1946 version.

I bought this game a few weeks ago and some others from you Folks but I can't, for the life of me, get IL-2 to download to my hard drive, do you have any idea why I can't download it??? If you can't help me download it, then I want my money back, period !!!
