Hi all,

The first time I ran Icewind Dale, the Thief and HOW female voice sets were silent in character creation -- unlike all the other voices, attempting to preview them yielded only silence.

I started over today and those voices reappeared, but in exchange, the Fighter female voice sets were silent instead.

I rummaged through the old topics and found that, while other people experienced this, nobody really can make any sense of it, and I just wanted to see if anything new came about on how to avoid this.

Thanks for any info on the issue, if there is any!
Well the first thing to rule out is mods or overrides. Do you have any mods, overrides, or anything in your \<IWD Install path>\Sounds\ folder?
Nope, nothing beyond what came with it from GOG.

After some trial and error, I've come to the conclusion that (if it happens at all, I know this hasn't happened to everyone), quitting the game completely and relaunching it will switch up which voices are muted, and occasionally, none will be muted at all.

So if this happens to you, simply finish the character you were working on while picking any other voice, then quit and relaunch the game, and edit your character's voice to the one you originally wanted (if it came back).

So hopefully this might help anyone who was confused like I was! Still strange that it even happened at all though...

Thank you by the way for your attempt to help! I appreciate it.
