Having a hard time killing Presio & friends without losing 1 or more party members. Anyone have any suggestions, especially against someone who uses mirror-image?

Presio's arena
That's a tough one. IIRC, I resorted to these tactics:

- move forward just far enough to get some of the outliers in smaller groups.
- summons - as many as your party can.
- buff spells for your fighters, and use your spellchuckers to debuff Presio and/or attack him with your better offensive spells.

Here's an excerpt from a walkthrough that may help as well:

I took my thief up (Hidden in shadows ON), got the war of fog removed so I could look into the room and see what I have to deal with. The Army Includes TONS of Poison Zombies, Imbued Wrights, and Presio himself.

Take out the Poison Wrights first, have the thief uncloak, and lure them to the bridge, kill them, and lure more.. continue until most are dead. take all your fighters into the room, and go directly to Presio, and attack him outright. have your Mage attack from the door, and cast defensive spells on Presio and others. Cleric can also stay back at the door and cast dispel magic (If your party is enchanted with "Fear" or Charmed. Healing Spells, Bless and Prayer are also good.

The last paragraph is pretty much the way I got through it. Sorry I'm not more detailed. Been months since I did that one, so I can't recall what spells and gear I had at my disposal.
Would you believe I won the battle, but forgot to save before searching for loot? I ended up setting off a trap & killing one of my party members. Hope I can win the battle...again. :-\

Argh. That seriously sucks. Oddly, I was going to warn you to watch for traps, but figured that would be unnecessary. :(
My own fault. As is the following...

My thief got diseased while searching (after beating Presio again) & I saved after, thinking the diseased state would go away on its own (because I thought it happened once before). I have no scrolls, spells, or potions to cure it. I can memorize the spell, but my thief is dead by the time our rest is over. I tried 3 different editors & none of them worked, probably because I recently installed the IWD tweak pack.

Ye gods, the ghost of Presio is having his revenge!

Can you use the console to spawn in a cure for the disease?
Diseases and poisons are way deadlier in 2.x than I remembered, better to carry a bunch of potions. 3.x really pampered..

There was that priest a level before or thereabouts, but I don't remember if she offered services. Other than that, its a trip back to town for a quick resurrection.

The working gameplay seems to involve a lot of luring goons away into some chokepoint/ambush..
For curing disease you can drink mummy's tea, you should have found a lot during your previous travels.
If you freed the priestess on level 2 she'll still stand there in the SE and offer you healing, cure disease costs 750 gp, raising dead party members is even more expensive depending on level.
I used up all my Mummy's Tea. I forgot about the healer down on Level 2, I'll try that. And if that fails for any reason, then I'll use the console (which I also forgot about).

Thanks everyone!
The temple in Kuldahar can also raise dead party members.

Also good to know, thanks. This battle with Presio was the toughest I had so far, I really should save more often so I don't screw myself like this again. :-p

Just traveled back up to Level 2, but I don't see her there...Egenia, right?

And I'm having trouble with the console. I can bring it up, but I haven't found a code for Mummy's Tea. :-(

Yeah, Egenia.

Try this for Mummy's Tea: *edit* Crap. That's IWD2. Hang on, I'm sure I have it somewhere...

**Found it: ADISEASE

Crap. I'm sure that's the right code. Have to re-check.

Is the party member that dies an Elf? If not, maybe try a Raise Dead scroll instead of Mummy's Tea?

I know you can go back to Kuldahar and get some of the potion, but if memory serves, that guy will die on the journey anyway, since it takes several days to a couple of weeks.

Failing that, I can do some experimenting tonight when I get home, but that won't be for several hours (probably at least 10 hours from now).

*edit* Chauncey, you sure you're using the console right (i.e. you've typed the command correctly)? Although, since you got the 'nice try, cheater', you likely have it correct. Your .ini file does have Cheats=1 in it, yes?
