Can we mod games from gog? For instance, for IWD, there is a patch/mod to show quest experience etc, but my computer isn't allowing me to change the .ini file, and I'm not sure whether it is something from GOG's end, or just the way Win 7 is setup.

Thanks in advance.

It's Win7. You can mod GOG's games, and IWD for certain (I have mine modded and am using Win7 64 bit). Check your permissions for the file you want to edit, and make sure you're running as Admin if you're using Notepad.

Thanks, I'll have to check into it. Just recently got Win 7 and haven't had much a chance to play with it yet.

I that case, save yourself some hassle and don't install games to default location (Program Files). Make a separate folder for them on different partition or just directly on C:\. Lots of minor problems can be avoided that way.
Ive got a few questions regarding a mod named-"Auril's Bane". This mod supposedly adds a lot of new items, spells and things to improve the game. Has anyone used this mod and is it useful. I want to try it out. Are the new spells any good or is it more just perks?

If that will save me some hassle I may just uninstall and reinstall them in a different location. I haven't played IWD in...9 years. I have the original boxes for IWD I & II, but I never got the expansion, so figured I'd just pay the few extra bucks and snag them here.
