I really need help. I had Icewind on disc but no expansion so it wasn't support for the high rez mod. Now I bought the game again here and the mod still don't work. Any help??

mhhh... Widescreen mod 2.60 -> http://gibberlings3.net/widescreen/ supports all manners of IWD so it definitely should work. Even without the expansion.. maybe you just have the wrong or an old mod version.
Fog of war.. But I think I found my fix for that too.

I am trying to play IWD2 after paying BG1 with no problems on my current system. The game responds fine to mouse clicks but any keys I have to press like 4-5 times before they are recognized. It took like 5 minutes to type in one of my characters names. I'm running Windows 7 on an AMD machine.

Any ideas? I loved this game when I first played it years ago and would like to play it again!

Not sure if it's any help, but something I've noticed with IE games in general is that they have weird issues with the keyboard at time. First time I tried to run BG, every text field filled up with x6x6x6x6x6x6 or something. I've also run into something similar in IWD where it kept thinking the ENTER key was pressed (and my keyboard is brand new, so there's nothing wrong with it), which went away after I actually pressed it. Try mashing keys and see if the keyboard suddenly gets more responsive after hitting any particular one.

EDIT: Also, since you were able to type in your character's name I'd suggest that the key in question would be a non-character key like PauseBreak or something.
