Nice review, some comments:
Haste in the original IWD works like mass improved haste in BG2, doubling the attacks per round. The limit is 5 attacks unhasted and 10 attacks hasted (it's not capped at 5 as the manual says).
The strength raising by only one step (18/99 to 18/00 for example) is intended, not a bug. Works the same with the "draw upon holy might" spell there and at character creation in Planescape:Torment.
I guess one reason for your game being to easy was that you chose a difficulty that gave double XP allowing your party to level up too fast and gain access to powerful options not intended to be available that early.

Lilura: Thanks for pointing out those two errors, kmonster. I have credited you at the end of the review.
I know this is quite old but I am going to comment anyway. In the future if you want others to read and enjoy your reviews you should refrain from excessive laziness of using initials in place of words. I can understand if you are saying "To be quite honest" the first time and plan on using the same phrase again further on you might want to write "To be quite honest ('Tbqh' in the future)" or some such but really your review is just strewn with these lazy shortening of words like "pls" instead of "please". Three freaking letters man. Come on!
I am not trying to be a grammar Nazi but this sort of laziness has become so ridiculously frequent in the last 10 years that it is alarming. Orwell wisely noted that the first thing to go when any civilized nation falls is language.
All this extreme short-cutting does is ensure that literate people do not want to read what you write. It comes off like someone just randomly bashed letters on his keyboard and posted it with the occasional real words thrown in here and there.
