It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

humby: Gibberlings 3 is up - I just checked.
Weird. I tried firefox and IE and got nothing. But I just tried a proxy and that worked. Whatever, I got what I wanted.
Anyone else experiencing stuttering problems with the widescreen mod? Without the mod, everything scrolls smoothly and my party moves like they should. With the mod installed, the scroll is choppy and when my party moves, everything starts to stutter. I've tried messing with a bunch of settings but can't seem to figure it out.

I've had stuttering problems with infinity engine games, but turning down hardware acceleration always solves them. Try running the game, and turning it down in increments until the game runs smoothly.
Having played now (apr 5 hours) with the NPC Mod + UB + IWD Tweak i can say that the added RP level by bantering npcs is great, as you have the same party through out the game its even MUCH better ;P. Even though you have stop regularly and sometimes the scripts cause a little hickup it still is very funny sometimes, lots of nice, deep, complex and lore related dialog. And yes, romances too. Also, and thats not usual the characters are actually interesting and their background is well detailed and fleshed out.

imo should be the Nr.1 mod on that list as thats definitely enhancing the first playthrough and RP feel of this game immensely. Would even go so far as to say that this makes IWD feel like it was meant to be. And enhances it to a level surpassing BG1.

If you install the NPC mod be sure to adapt the classes of the NPC's to fit what your avatar is going to be. (The Installer asks you ,p)

So bottom line. I can't believe i never knew of that mod for IWD before. I didn't much like the lack of banter in stock IWD so this improved the game for me by factor 10.

(Also i played the NPC Mod party with me being a true mage, and its definitely also a mod for tacticians) Game is perfectly manageable with that party and not too hard either.

Anyone know how to tag a topic to be stickied? This is useful information. I remember back in the beginning GoG did all the mod-digging themselves and made their own stickies. I guess they're too busy now (bringing us great games!), so we should be able to get this stickied somehow. The IE games especially have strong modding communities.

Make it one of your favorites: Got to the main Icewind Dale forum where all the threads are listed. Make sure there's a check mark in the box to the far right of the thread you want stickied. This will put it at the top of the forum for you whenever you visit it.

Yeah, the suggestion of community moderators is something that will be brought to the attention of the staff soon.
Did anyone look at these:

http://www.shsforums.net/index.php?autocom=downloads&showfile=761

1pp seems to have lots of mods I don't know if they all work but for instance this mod allows for female dwarves in Icewind Dale (as in characetr moving around ing ame actually looks female).

There are also mdos for better paperdolls etc.

Fumarole: Anyone know if there is a program similar to the BiG World Project that works for Icewind Dale?
avatar
xenobrain: There is IWDTutu and it implements IWD 1 in the IWD 2 engine. That also means it updates the game for 3rd Edition D&D, which is a HUGE change!

Existing mods won't work for it, but once it comes out of beta we might see some conversions. That said, getting out of beta may take a long while, yet! Development seems to have stalled.

It's not quite what you were looking for, but it's a step in that direction. We may never see anything actually analogous to The Big World though.
Thank's for the heads-up, I'll check that out.

I think I'm out of my league here. For BG I just used Big World, but for IWD I have no idea what order to install things in.
The mods are actually listed in order of installation. I made an edit earlier today to make that a bit clearer.

Thanks for clarifying. Where in the order would the improved BAMs and the One Pixel Productions paperdoll and avatar changes go?
This post is for BGTutu, but it demonstrates the general logic of what types of mods to install in what order.

In this case, the 1PP tweaks would probably go in after quest mods, and just before the IWDTweak.

Also, didn't know the 1PP avatar and BAM pack works for IWD! I mostly liked it for BG2. I'll give it a shot for IWD and see what it looks like.

Cool. Please, let me know how it goes and how you got it to work.
Had an odd thing happen on my Win7 rig. Extracted the Unfinished Business and the IWD Tweakpack mods into my installation and didn't get an executable file. Everything else showed up fine (the respesctive folders and debug files, etc. but no program executable) Thinking it was the result of corrupt DLs, I DLed again (tried both the .rar version if available and the .exe version) and still no joy. So then I DLed it onto my XP rig and extracted the files right into the DL folder on that rig. Copied the .exe files (setup_ub_iwd and setup_G3DaleTweaks) to my Win7 Icewind Dale install and everything worked fine.

I should note that in the confusion I ended up installing and running the Tweak mod before the Unfinished Business mod. There seem to be no ill effects, but I've only just created a party and not played any significant amount in the game yet.
