I didn't see this on the forums, so I thought I would put the question out there.

I'm in the middle of Chapter 3. After Isair and Maede's appearance at the Wandering Village, I noticed that Tahvo the Huntmaster was gone. All the other named characters (Venla, Suoma, etc.) are stationary, so I don't think he wandered off the map. Normally, I wouldn't really care except that he's the only one in the village who will buy or sell weapons, and I have some weapons to unload and a lot of arrows to buy. I don't want to wait until Kuldahar to do it, either.

I was wondering if he is supposed to show up later or if this is a bug in the program. I played through to about mid-Chapter 4 years ago, and I don't remember this happening then (I played through with the original discs).

I tried using the "ctraltdelete:createcreature" cheat code to spawn a new Tahvo, but the cheat console tells me that's not a valid activity. It's possible that the code to spawn Tahvo is not simply "TAHVO" of course.

So, any ideas?

I'm running the game through Crossover for Mac, although I don't think that makes a huge difference, since I'm still using the GOG version of the game.

I'm going to go with the canned response and suggest that you may have killed him with an AoE spell during the battle by accident. Whatever happened, I suggest loading an older save file (hopefully you have one) and do that battle again.
You can try to sell the stuff the other merchants in the village won't buy to Zack, the gnome wizard in the area outside the ice temple. You'll find almost a dozen merchants before arriving in Kuldahar, you can leave your stuff in a container and come back to get it later when you've found a few of them (but a few 1,000 gp more or less don't matter) , you might want to return for the harder battlesquares levels anyway.

I didn't use any AoE spells in the battle with the possessed corpses specifically to avoid frying a villager. I've played too many Infinity Engine games to know what happens with those. In fact, I don't think I used any spells at all. My cleric (of Lathander) turned the corpses in the first round, they scattered, and the party pretty much chopped them up at their leisure.

My thief has her bag of holding, so it's not like I need to make space, I was just hoping to clear out Venla's stock of potions. I'm in the hook horror caves now, so I'll just remember that for next time. (I plan on running through at least twice more with a different party)
